Description:     Environmental Engineer- Somerset
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a geo-environmental engineer to join the Somerset office of this quaint and friendly consultancy who offer project management services in the fields of contaminated land management, brownfield regeneration and remediation and geotechnical design.
Qualification: You will have a BSc and preferably MSc in environmental science, environmental geoscience, contaminated land, earth sciences, environmental geology or similar. A driving license is essential for this role.
Experience: You will have proven geo-environmental, contaminated land or remediation experience ideally gained through working for a consultancy although experience gained through contracting or public sector organization will also be considered. A sound understanding of contaminated land, remediation and risk assessments is essential.
Salary: £20-25,000

Duties:
Design and delivery of geo-environmental investigations to include;
Undertaking phase 1 desk studies and site walkovers
Gas and groundwater monitoring and reporting
In situ testing of soil and groundwater
Phase 2 investigations along with logging soil and rock samples in accordance to BS5930
Undertaking qualitative, semi-qualitative and quantitative risk assessments; use of CLEA, SNIFFER software
Landfill design and delivery of remedial proposals
Factual and interpretive report writing
