UK: Junior Production Manager

Our client is a leader in nutrition, technical design, formulation and manufacture of high performance animal feeds, manufacturing in numerous sites in the UK.

All mills have achieved the ISO 14001 accreditation with a constant focus on efficiency and optimising energy use. Health, safety and environmental protection are a high priority for the business.

They are now looking to appoint a Junior Production Manager to a site in Scotland. With up to 3 supervisors reporting in to the position, the main duties of the role will be:
* Assist the Operations Manager for the achievement of agreed budget (as defined eg manufacturing costs) whilst continually striving for greater efficiency.
* Assist in developing a site structure which enables the production (and delivery) of feed of consistently satisfactory quality and the requirements of health and safety and environmental legislation / policy to be met at minimum cost.
* Improve leadership, team building and empowerment skills of individual supervisors.
* Assist and participate in the Continuous Improvement Programme and encourage a culture of engagement across the team.
* Communicate with other functions to understand and ensure customer expectations are met.
* Assist in managing hygiene standards and the implementation of all procedures to meet the requirements of Assurance schemes and law.
* Assist in maintaining HACCP systems to Company requirements.

Ideally, candidates should be able to demonstrate production, transport or logistics organisation and planning experience from within the food, drink or agri-feed sectors. We are looking to appoint a junior manager with excellent potential and leadership qualities, who is keen to be developed into a full Site Operations Manager. The advancement of the team in this operation is as important as the improvement of basic KPIs.
