Grupo Moneris is looking for a General Manager to lead a new project in Alentejo in order to develop a magnificent self-sufficient homestead.

Our client has a solid business plan to invest in a 430ha homestead in Lower Alentejo Region. The General Manager will be responsible to start-up the business and develop a magnificent self-sufficient homestead.

Job profile

Reporting to the Owners of the Company, the General Manager will be responsible:

• To get the homestead operating in a commercial manner, maximising revenue from the existing activities and operating as an Alentejo farm;

• Liaise with Official Authorities, to obtain greater access to local water resources with a view to being able to irrigate a vineyard;

• To define and execute the business plan (e.g. develop production planning activities, manage all available resources, other) and thus achieve sustainability of the investment in the medium and long term;

• Support the needs of the operations by assuring the right focus to maximise financial performance;

• Ensure compliance of all laws & regulations, so that all activities are developed in line with existing legal framework;

• Direct and coordinate all staff and departments;

• Maintain and monitor the quality of yield, whether livestock or crops;

• Undertake analysis of the soil to determine type and quantity of crops for maximum production and profitability;

• Oversee the development of a vineyard business production in the near future;

• Coordinate the application to European funding programmes and master the funding application;

• Embrace a long-term project.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• Proved English proficiency;

• Degree in Agronomic Engineering / Management or related;

• Irreproachable ethical conduct;

• A minimum of 5-10 years of management experience in similar project;

• Age between 35 and 45;

• Outstanding administration skills;

• Flexibility, enthusiastic and able to supervise and take care the field operations.
