A leading specialist in the provision of marine and engineering support exclusively to the Marine Renewable Energy Sector requires a GIS Technician / Analyst to join the rapidly expanding team.
This is an exciting opportunity in the renewable energy sector and involves a number of responsibilities including:
- Using ESRI ArcGIS software to work on existing and develop new client GIS databases. Using the GIS to analyse data and display cartographic mapping to show the client the value of using GIS and maintain quality controlled data management.
- Establishing and executing GIS data management practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing the interaction between client project teams, managing data, support, and facilitating data exchange with contractors.
Day to day tasks:
- Inputting metadata
- Coordinate systems & projections
- File formats & data conversion
- Geo-referencing base maps
- Modelling physical constraints
- Plotting coordinates locations
- Running graphic queries
- Identification of anomalies in data
- Professional cartographic output
- Analysis and assessment
- Database management
Skills required:
Experience of ArcGIS 9.2, Sound Knowledge of MS Office software, in particular Microsoft Excel, Access and Project. Dilegence in data management and control.
