European Agricultural Graduate Trainee

My Client is a leading global chemicals producer safeguarding crops against fungal disease, insects and weeds, improving quality and ensuring yields. Leading the field in the Research of plant biotechnology and focusing on crops for more efficient agriculture, healthier nutrition and for use as renewable raw materials, they have an exciting national graduate development programme for commercially aware agricultural and life science related disciplines.

Striving toward the position of commercial agronomy manager you will quickly develop an understanding and appreciation of the key aspects of the crop protection market, the custom base and the key influencer groups, taking on responsibility early and adapting to a senior account management role quickly. You will combine successive periods of field and office based activities, concentrating on technical subjects, commercial areas and agronomic, budget and target management skills. You will also partake in a number of courses and individual projects supporting the senior teams and wider business environment, while developing your already excellent skills of entrepreneurship.

The successful candidate will be an astute and erudite, commercially aware individual, mobile and flexible to business needs, and will essentially be educated to degree level or equivalent in business, agronomy or crop-based disciplines such as agricultural, biotechnical & environmental sciences or agricultural management. They will require excellent communication and entrepreneurial skills and a drive to succeed in a range of different environments. Knowledge of a second European language would also be advantageous.
